Deposit

The Deposit card on a contract tracks the security deposit end to end.

Enter the deposit amount and create it. The card then shows three figures: held, deductions, and refundable.

Save the received date and invoice reference for the incoming deposit — useful for reconciliation and matching the legacy deposit-payment record.

Add deductions during the tenancy or at check-out — damage, cleaning, repair, replacement, unpaid rent, admin or other — each with an amount and description.

When you run a check-out inspection, items marked damaged can be turned into deposit deductions automatically (see Run an inspection). Then Close & reconcile splits the refund between tenant and landlord.
